Katie Moore Chosen as 2008 Fort Bend County Fair Queen
Foster High School Junior Katie Moore won the Fort Bend County Fair Queen Competition and will serve as the 2008 queen. Moore sold more than $50,000 in fair tickets and she is the daughter of Michael and Sharon Moore of Richmond. Julie Mannella, a senior at Foster High School, was named First Runner-Up. Mannella was also chosen as the Style Show Winner. Anyssa Silva, a junior at B.F. Terry High School, was crowned Second Runner-Up, Alex Cardenas, a senior at Foster High School was crowned Third Runner-Up and Nicole Thibodeaux, a senior at William B. Travis High School, was crowned Fourth Runner-Up. Collectively, the candidates sold over $144,000 in fair tickets.

What It Takes to Win the Crown

The Fort Bend County Fair Queen Contest is for females between the ages of 15 and 19 years who are residents of Fort Bend County. The competition runs August 10 – September 26, 2008 and is based on ticket sales, interview and style show performance. Winners receive scholarships and prizes for their efforts, as well as the opportunity to serve as a community ambassador for the Fort Bend County Fair for the coming year.
