queen of all?

Ashley Renee Bartee was crowned 2009 Fort Bend County Fair
Queen Friday evening by 2008 Fair Queen Katie Moore. The
ceremony took place Friday evening in Building D at the
fairgrounds in Rosenberg.
First runner-up was Amy Casias, with Jacqueline Romero
second, Michelle Inman third and Kaitlynn Hoffman fourth
runner-up.
The winners all received scholarships and trophy belt
buckles.
Bartee was the top ticket seller and won the interview
portion of the contest as well. In all, the 10 contestants
sold $137,000 worth of Fair tickets.
Pre-sales of Fair tickets were part of the competition, but
candidates were also judged on personality, appearance,
interview skills, personal activities and participation in
the Fair.
A senior and head cheerleader at Foster High School, the new
Fair Queen is the daughter of Ron and Rosey Bartee. She
plans to major in secondary education and literature at
either Sam Houston State University or Texas A&M University.
Casias is a freshman at Houston Community College, where she
is preparing for her first year at the University of Texas.
She is the daughter of John and Alicia Casias.
Romero was the winner of the style show portion of the
contest, which was held in August at Safari Texas Ranch in
Richmond. She is the daughter of Oscar and Elva Romero and
is a senior at Needville High School.
Inman is a junior at Foster High School and plans to attend
Texas A&M University upon graduating. She is the daughter of
Joseph and Wendy Rangel.
Hoffman is also a junior at Foster, where she is a varsity
cheerleader and student council member. The daughter of
Buddy and Chris Hoffman, she plans to attend Texas A&M
University.
Other Fair Queen candidates were Lauren Braly, Mattie Haigh,
Heather Hughes, London Mays and Anyssa Silva.
